Flagdag i Nuuk

Hvert år rejser en gruppe veteraner til Grønland i forbindelse med flagdagen.

Og igen i år tager  Veteranprojekt Grønland til Nuuk for at deltage i højtideligholdelsen af flagdagen.

I år består detachementet af tjenestegørende veteraner fra Den Kongelige Livgarde og veteraner fra KFUM Soldaterrekreation i Høvelte. Højtideligholdelsenafholdes af Sermersooq Kommune og Arktisk Kommando. 

Ved deltagelsen i flagdagsceremonien i Nuuk deltager Veteranprojekt Grønland i anerkendelsen af og bidrager til opmærksomheden på de mere end hundrede veteraner og deres pårørende i Grønland.

Året igennem samarbejder vi med Foreningen Grønlands Veteraner om en oplysende virksomhed i både Grønland og Danmark, vedrørende de særlige forhold der gælder for veteraner og pårørende i Grønland således, at fokus på en ligestilling med veteraner og pårørende i Danmark fastholdes.

I dagene op til flagdagen har detachementet gennemført en friluftsaktivitet på 3 dage i Nuuk Fjorden. Grønlands storslåede natur gør altid frilufstaktiviteten til en oplevelse for livet. De store vidder og den ro som naturen byder gør altid et stort indtrykpå de deltagende veteraner, og inviterer for en kort stund ind til en ro som man ikke finder mange steder i verden eller i en hverdag.

Der skal lyde en særskilt hilsen til Foreningen Grønlands Veteraner, og derudover ønsker vi alle veteraner og deres pårørende i rigsfællesskabet en god flagdag!
